If you are a fan of ‘Alien’, Fantastic Realism art or H R Giger’s biomechanical style, you will want to have a drink at the Giger Bar in the Kalchbühl Center. H R Giger, Swiss painter, sculptor and set designer, was born in 1940 in Chur and now lives and works in Zurich. The bar opened in 1992, after association with leading architect Thomas Domenig and a two year construction period, and you can sit on, and amongst, the artist’s creations. The fittings, bar, tables and chairs, all designed by the artist, give the impression of being on the Alien film set.
