Opened in December 2005, the Teddy Bear Museum displays, over three floors in an Old Town house, about 600 antique bears of all shapes and sizes, mainly from 1904-1970. Collected over thirty years by Maria Magdalena Kauffman, there are teddy bears manufactured by such companies as Steiff, Hermann, Schuco, Bing and Mutzli. The bears are displayed in everyday and often humorous scenes, complemented by antique toys and other period objects. The scenes are changed periodically and special events are staged. Details of the estimated age and manufacturer are given.
