No visit to Bad Ragaz is complete without going to the 500 metre long Tamina Gorge and the Old Baths (see separate entry), which are located at Bad Pfäfers about 5.5 km from Bad Ragaz. You will experience the enormous power of the water in the narrow steam-filled gallery where the principal spring emerges from a deep chamber in the rock. Hot water, at a temperature up to 37°C, jets up from the ground and can form geysers up to 70 metres high. In places, the sides of the gorge almost seem to touch. There is a bus service.
