The Schweizer Kindermuseum explores the theme of childhood, documents the world of the children, and the changes which have taken place over the last three hundred years. One of the main subjects, with exhibits, is how children’s toys, books and games have evolved, whilst the themes of hygiene, media, leisure, sports, consumer advertising and school education are also explored. The twenty rooms in the museum are genuine treasure troves, offering countless opportunities for discovery, play and hands-on fun. Typical is the theatre curiosity cabinet, with a fascinating exhibit of magic, wizardry, shadow play, Punch and Judy shows, and paper theatre.
