The charming mountain village of St Urbanne is located off the beaten track on the right bank of the River Doub, about 17 km west of Delémont. Its name is derived from Saint Ursicinus, a seventh century monk who built a monastery here. The village has retained its medieval character and there are many links with the past, including a collegiate church, hermitage and the ruins of a castle. St Urbanne is well known for the medieval festival it organizes each summer; in season guided tours of the town take place every weekend.
