St Leonhard’s Church has been a protestant church since 1529, but the first church here was built in the late 11th century; the crypt is still intact. The church was reconstructed after the earthquake of 1356, when the impressive tower was built. Reconstruction again took place from 1481-96 under the Münster architect Hans von Nussdorf, to the design of Hans Niesenberger. Highlights include the grave of the knight Hüglin von Schöneck (1377), 14th and 15th century murals, the Choir screen dating from 1455/60 and the 1518 timber choir vault by Martin Lebzelte. The church is also used for classical music concerts.
