The Gartenbad St Jakob, located in the southeast of the city, is a large open-air bathing complex, with extensive facilities under lifeguard supervision. It has a 50-metre competition pool and further 50-metre pools for swimmers, non-swimmers and teaching. The diving pool has platforms from one to ten metres and there are splash and children’s paddling pools. Features include waterslides, beach volleyball court, children’s playground, grassed sunbathing areas with shade and games areas for Frisbee, badminton, table tennis, etc. Facilities include changing cubicles, lockers, showers and toilets. There is a restaurant, two kiosks and a snack bar; an open-air cinema operates in season.
