Located in the northwest of Basel is the interesting modern church of St Anthony’s (St Antoniuskirche). Designed by the architect Karl Moser (1860- 1936), it was a pioneering example of concrete architecture (off the shutter concrete) when it was built in the period 1926/1927. Moser was also the architect of two famous art nouveau churches of St Paul, in Basel and Lucerne. The coffered ceilings over the side aisles and the coffered barrel-vault of the nave are richly detailed and the church has beautiful tall stained glass windows.
