Aadorf is about 8 km south of Frauenfeld and the St Alexander Catholic Church has been on record since the middle of the 9th century, although the present parish church dates from 1863-1865. It was built in neo-Gothic style, but when it was extensively renovated in 1962-1964, the neo-Gothic elements were removed and the church was given a new clinical interior in the prevailing fashion of that time. In 1995/96 a partial renovation, in which the altar and choir area were substantially altered, converted St Alexander’s into a fine example of a modern church.
