The St Alban Church belonged to the former Cluny monastery and was built around 1270; it replaced an earlier building dating from c.1083. It was subject to many changes in the Middle Ages and became a Protestant church in 1529. In 1845, the front section of the nave and the south aisle were demolished when major alterations were undertaken by Johann Jakob Stehlin the Younger (1826-94). The present west façade, with some old sections and the plastered wooden vaults of the nave, result from the 1845 changes.
