During winter, the Usern Valley is a paradise for ski and snowboard enthusiasts and has 20 lifts and 125 km of prepared pistes in a variety of areas. From Andermatt the panorama cabins of a powerful cable car can take you up to the top of Gemmstock in about 16 minutes, where, from 2,961 metres, you will be able to see more than 600 mountain peaks. The famous Bernhard Russi Run down the glacier is named after the 1972 Sapporo Olympic Games winner. There are pistes for every standard in the Usern Valley, together with two snow parks and a half-pipe.
