The Swiss Sewing Machine Museum is located in a 12th century vaulted cellar and contains more than 250 domestic and commercial sewing machines from the 19th and 20th centuries. In addition, the museum has many other interesting objects, such as irons from all periods, including bronze irons from China and those using methylated spirits and gas. There are also mechanical vacuum cleaners with bellows and air pumps. The collection presents a fascinating and, for some, nostalgic history of the development of many household implements.
