Located at Tafers, approximately 6 km northeast of Fribourg, the Sensler Museum is housed in a 1780 wooden building, typical of the period and region. Opened in 1975, it has a permanent exhibition on 18th and 19th century culture, lifestyle and traditions. The straw crafts industry was of great importance in the area and the museum has many exhibits related to this craft, there are also contemporary works. Temporary exhibitions are also staged, the current one of African art by two artists being a typical example.
