Located high above Davos, the Schatzalp is well known from the novel ‘The Magic Mountain’ by Thomas Mann (1875-1955). The Alpinum Schatzalp is about a five minutes walk from the upper station of the funicular, past the Hotel Schatzalp. It contains over 3,500 different alpine plant specimens with signs giving the Latin and German names and whether they are medicinal or poisonous. There are well-marked paths and steps through the vast garden, which is at its best in June and July and includes the ‘Medicinal Plant Garden of Alfred Vogel’. The Alpine slide is adjacent to the garden.
