The Schachen Lido by the River Aare is located conveniently close to town on a 25,000 m˛ site. There is an open-air main pool, which has one-metre, three-metre and five-metre diving boards, complemented by a non-swimmers’ pool and a children’s paddling pool; there is a lifeguard and the water is maintained at 24° C. Other features include a water slide, extensive grassed sunbathing with shade, beach volleyball and a playing area for Frisbee, badminton and other games. There are changing cubicles, lockers, toilets and showers and a restaurant.
