The Basilica of Santa Maria dei Miracoli, constructed between 1595 and 1613, became one of the most popular pilgrim sites in Ticino after a miracle occurred there in 1594. This is a wonderfully historic site, full of artistic splendours. Separated from the church by a corridor that runs behind the head of the Madonna, is a small oratory, begun in 1718 and finished in 1731. This oratory was built as a testament to the devotion of the pilgrims to the Sanctuary.
