The Sandgruben Lido, part of a large sports complex, is located at Pratteln, some 11 km southeast of Basel. It offers open-air bathing under lifeguard supervision with a good range of pools and facilities. The 50-metre swimmers’ pool is complemented by a 25-metre non-swimmers’ pool, a splash pool and three children’s paddling pools. Other features include a waterslide, various pool accessories, one-metre and three-metre diving platforms, a children’s playground, beach volleyball court, grassed sunbathing areas with shade and games areas for Frisbee, badminton, table tennis, etc. Facilities include changing cubicles, lockers, showers and toilets. There is a kiosk, a snack bar and parking.
