The San Grato Botanical Park, which was once the property of the patron of Carona, lies approximately 10 km from Lugano and has an exceptional panorama over the peaks of the mountain chain. The park has the largest collection of azaleas, rhododendrons and conifers in the entire region. The park has various themed walks to show different aspects of the park. There is a playground for children, which offers a seesaw, merry-go-round, slide, swings, a little house and an adventurous cable car. There is a restaurant in the heart of the park, which caters for day trippers and refined gourmets alike.
