The Rifle Museum, which was founded in 1885, is far more than a large collection of all kinds of firearms; it has a great many marksmanship trophies, cups, watches and a collection of coins and medals. Highlights include the gilt silver cup of Emperor Wilhelm II of Germany (1910), that of King Wilhelm III of the Netherlands (1876) and a fine collection of pictorial material of national and international importance. For added interest there is an air-rifle shooting range to test your skills. The museum is near to the Berne History Museum (see separate entry).
