Rhäzüns is located at an altitude of 657 metres on the west bank of the River Hinterrhein, about 14 km southwest of Chur. It was first mentioned around 840 as Raezunne and today has a population of around 1,250. On a cliff above the river stands the impressive Rhäzuns Castle, the oldest parts of which date from the 13th century. Two churches are listed as Swiss heritage sites of national significance, St George’s Church with its splendid frescos and St Paul’s with its impressive side altar and painting of St Christopher. Feldis can be reached by the 2,100 metre cableway.
