The Rheinach Local Museum is located next to the St Nikolaus Church, some 8 km south of Basel, and you might like to pay a visit in combination with relaxation at the Reinach or Arlesheim lidos (see separate entries). Opened in 1962 and housed in its present converted premises since 1988, the Reinach Heimatmuseum is well laid out and gives visitors an insight into the history and culture of the area. The museum has a number of temporary exhibitions including various forms of art. Don’t miss the bakery, smithy, basket-weaver’s and saddler’s workshops in the outhouse.
