In 1944, Hans Hilfiker (19011993) designed the Swiss Railways Clock. His masterpiece was to become the official timepiece for all Swiss railway stations and is now legendary as a tourist attraction in its own right. Hans Hilfiker, a Swiss engineer and designer, inspired the Mondaine collection of watches and clocks. La Gare de Cornavin (Cornavin station) is Genevas main train station, located in the center of the city. The station has over 100 train arrivals and departures every day, a direct link to Geneva Cointrin International Airport, and a customs office for trains to France, so time-keeping is of the essence here.
