The tiny village of Oulens-sous-Echallens is located west of Echallens and within easy driving distance. A day out to the village is worthwhile if only to visit the attractive parish church, which is classified as a historical monument. The church in Oulens-sous-Echallens was originally constructed in the 17th century, but the building was entirely renovated in 1964. Its magnificent gate, which separates the nave from the chancel, is a wonderful example of skills possessed by craftsmen of times gone by. The interior is also a delight.
