The Ostermundigen Lido, located about 3.5 km east of Berne, was originally opened in 1963, but was completely renovated and upgraded in 1990/91. The 50-metre open-air main pool has 1-metre and 3-metre diving boards/platforms and is supplemented by a non-swimmers’ pool and a children’s paddling pool all under lifeguard supervision. Features include a water slide, grassed sunbathing areas with shade and a games area for Frisbee, badminton, table tennis and other sports. Facilities include changing cubicles, lockers, showers, toilets and a restaurant.
