When the artificial lake of La Gruyère was created, Ogoz Island was formed with its castle ruins and chapel which were on a hill. The Ogoz Island Association was formed to preserve these medieval remains and enable the public to visit them. In season, normally on Sundays, they run an hour long barge excursion from Ogoz port in Le Bry about 18 km northeast of Gruyères. The restored chapel is used for romantic weddings and contains a number of treasures, including six statues and a chalice. There is a castle legend of a woman accidentally killed when separating her two duelling suitors
