Located 2 km southeast of the village of Untervaz (see separate entry), about 11 km northeast of Chur, are the ruins of the Neuberg Castle (Ruine Neuberg). They are situated on a rocky spur overlooking the River Rhine and are listed as a Swiss heritage site of national significance. The castle was first built in the 13th century and, in 1577, after being in various hands, it became the property of the local council but fell into ruin. Still to be seen are: the four storey large rectangular keep, a large cistern and parts of the curtain wall and gatehouse.
