The Natural History Museum houses a permanent exhibition, scientific collections and stages temporary exhibitions; the highlights include a stuffed whale, a Siberian Tiger, a white shark and two Fribourg meteorites. The permanent collection is divided into seven sections; mineralogy, history of the earth, geology, two of regional fauna (including dioramas) and two devoted to zoology. The mineralogy section covers the phenomenon of fluorescence and the history of earth section is divided into the period of the invertebrates, the fish, the batrachians, the reptiles and the mammals. There is parking next to the museum and there are facilities for disabled persons.
