The Aargau canton Natural History Museum (Naturama) is one of the most up to date in Switzerland and opened in 2002. Modern in format, it combines living animals, plants, fossils and minerals, video films, interactive computer installations, models and dioramas in an entertaining way that invites discovery and learning. The museum’s ground floor covers the past, the first floor the present and the second floor the future and there are more than 250 live animals and a fresh water aquarium and much more to interest both young and old. The museum, in addition to its permanent exhibition, stages specialist temporary exhibitions.
