The Museum of the Swiss Abroad is a celebration of famous Swiss personalities who have affected world events. For example: Domenico Fontana from the Ticino was responsible for the obelisk in St. Peter’s Square. François Le Fort from Geneva was Tsar Peter the Great’s friend and counsellor. Louis Chevrolet from Neuchâtel built cars in America. The collection of paintings and other works of art, printed and handwritten documents, maps, furniture, weapons, uniforms, coins, even the Swiss flag that travelled through space with astronaut Claude Nicollier, will help visitors to discover the astonishing Swiss abroad.
