Located in the southwest of the town of Moutier is the 11th Century Romanesque Chapelle de Chalières, which is worth visiting for its stained glass original windows and, more importantly, for its frescos from the second half of the 11th Century. It is thought that the chapel was originally the Moutier-Grandval school church which later became a parish church. It was used as a place of worship by the German reformed community from 1888 to 1932. It was only during restoration works in the period 1934-36 that the frescos were discovered.
