Monthey is known for its culture, its famous carnival and its proximity to the ski pistes of the Portes du Soleil. Ideally situated between Lac Léman and the Valaisan Préalpes, it is the ideal starting point for the heights of Choëx, Giettes and the Illiez Valley, both in summer and in winter. Monthey has a superb sporting and cultural infrastructure. The small station of Giettes is located on the heights of Monthey. It offers wonderful views of the Rhone and Lac Léman. Crossing the Dents-du-Midi, it is perfect location for skiing and walking.
