The Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MAMCO) is located in an old factory building and is regarded as being on the cutting edge of modern art in Europe. Opened in September 1994, the museum exhibits a broad range of works dating from the early 1960s to the present day. Its installations, videos, paintings, photographs, and sculptures come to MAMCO on loan from public and private collections, as gifts, as artists’ deposits or as acquisitions. The works of Marcel Duchamp, the inspiration for the museum, are on display year round.
