Menhirs are described by archaeologists as memorials, terminals or tombs. Dating back to the Neolithic era, they were erected from 3000 to 2000 B.C. and are attributed to stone worshipers. The menhir of Grandson is four metres high and can be found at the edge of the road leading to Fiez. Another can be viewed close to the old Castle of Bonvillars, at the same altitude of 495 metres. Most impressive is this region is a cluster of four menhirs, which stand close to Corcelles-Concise.
