Located about 23 km southeast of Basel in the picturesque Jura region, is the world famous Mechanical Music Museum, with its large collection of Swiss music boxes, clocks, watches and jewellery, as well as other music automatons. Visitors start in the Workshop Room, gaining an insight into the workings of automatons, and then proceed to the Salon Bleu where the music of exhibits can be enjoyed. The tour ends in the Sound Art Room where you can see the Welte philharmonic organ, originally installed in the ocean liner Brittanic, the sister ship of the ill-fated Titanic. There is a restaurant on site.
