Located below the Lorraine Bridge in Berne and alongside the River Aare, the Lorraine swimming pool is a small, idyllic and family-friendly bathing area. Admission is free and you can swim (unsupervised) in the river or alternatively in the open-air 100 metre long swimming pool where there is a lifeguard. Children have a paddling pool and a playground to amuse them. The water in the pool is not chemically treated, but is supplied by a ground water collection system. There are cubicles, lockers and toilets, a kiosk, and grassed sunbathing areas with shade. A section of the facility is nudist
