The Piscine du Landeron, located about 18 km southwest of Biel beside Lake Bienne, offers open-air bathing (but not lake bathing) in lovely surroundings. The 50-metre swimmers’ pool is complemented by a non-swimmers’ pool and an octagonal children’s paddling pool. Other features include a 67-metre waterslide, with a second to be added in 2009, grassed sunbathing areas with shade and games areas for Frisbee, badminton and other sports. Facilities include parking (payable), changing cubicles, lockers, showers and toilets and there is a terraced restaurant.
