Jakobshorn is located at an altitude of 2,590 metres (8,498 feet) and is reached by a cableway built in 1954. This runs from Davos Platz to the Ischalp at 1,931 metres (6,336 feet) and from there to the upper station at Jakobshorn. There are restaurants at both Ischalp and Jakobshorn and superb views. Famous as a snowboarding centre, Jakobshorn is one of Davos’ five skiing regions with 14 pistes and is also used by hang-gliders and snow-kiters. There is a marked path back down to Ischalp through the rhododendron groves.
