Located in a prominent new building designed by Katharina and Wilfried Steib, the History Museum of Baden gives an overview of settlement in the town and how the baths and industry have shaped its development. A covered wooden bridge, dating from 1810, leads across the Limmat River to the Landvogteischloss, the old governor’s house, which was rebuilt between 1487 and 1489 and a ramp leads you down to discover Baden’s history. Roman artifacts, models of the town, photographs and many other documents and objects, together with life-like special exhibitions, illuminate the changes in environment, society and culture which have taken place.
