Located approximately 10 km north of Berne, in a sports centre on the outskirts of Münchenbuchsee, the Hirzenfeld Lido is an open-air bathing complex with good facilities under lifeguard supervision. The 50-metre swimmers’ pool is complemented by a 30-metre non-swimmers’ pool and a 15-metre children’s paddling pool. Other features include one-metre and three-metre diving platforms, an 88-metre waterslide, pool accessories, two beach volleyball courts, a children’s playground, grassed sunbathing areas with shade and a games area for Frisbee, badminton, table tennis, etc. Facilities include changing cubicles, lockers, showers and toilets and umbrella and lounger hire. There is a kiosk and a restaurant.
