All children and adults who know the Heidi books of celebrated author Johanna Spyri (1827-1901) will want to visit the site of these stories, which is situated in Maienfeld about 3 km east of Bad Ragaz. The author spent several summers in this area during the period 1845-1852. Apart from Heidi’s house, which has been turned into a museum, you can visit the petting zoo, the village shop and the post office which issues and postmarks special Heidi stamps. There are also various Heidi adventure trails which are offered, enabling fans to relive their favourite stories.
