Located near the Davos Monstein railway station, approximately 14 km southwest of Davos, the Grisons Mining Museum is housed in a historic administration building built in the early 1900s, which was much bigger than its present size before a landslide in 1933. The museum provides an interesting insight into the mining of iron and other ores, an important industry in the canton at one time. Exhibits include a notable collection of minerals, lamps, miners’ tools, photos and much more, there is also a slide show. There are guided tours to the museum and mines on certain days.
