With the mountains of the Jura as a backdrop and its lakeside position, the village of Grandson is a stunning place to visit. Inhabited since the Neolithic era, it has a particularly rich past and is named for the lord of the region who built the castle there in the 11th century. The village attracts many tourists due to the culture, regional products, superb marina and one of the most visited castles in Switzerland. Grandson is a delight for many reasons, not least its picturesque setting, its ancient fountains and pedestrian lanes along the banks of the lake.
