An unusual and exciting attraction for summer visitors is to travel from Andermatt to Airolo in a horse-drawn mail coach via the Gotthard Pass and relive the journey of travellers over 120 years ago. You ride in a luxuriously fitted coupé landau and can relax and enjoy the breathtaking scenery. The journey starts at Andermatt railway station with the coachman and conductor wearing original uniforms. The route followed is, as far as possible, the old Gotthard route; there are various stops including lunch and a museum visit at the summit of the pass. The journey ends with 4 o’clock tea in Airolo.
