The Gletscherschlucht (Glacier Gorge) is an impressive and romantic place with smooth rock faces over 100 metres in height and pink and green marble; it is a masterpiece of nature. The starting point is the Gletscherschlucht, a 35-minute walk from Grindelwald centre or reached by bus from the station. From the hotel restaurant, a wooden walkway leads through galleries and tunnels over 1,000 metres into the depths of the gorge and its raging waters. The visit takes approximately 45 minutes. There is a crystal museum at the gorge entrance, exhibiting minerals from the Bernese Alps.
