The Furka Pass, at an altitude of 2,436 metres, is on the border between the cantons of Uri and Valais and is located some 24 km southwest of Andermatt. It connects Gletsch in Valais with Realp in Uri and was used as a location in the 1964 James Bond film ‘Goldfinger’ starring Sean Connery. There are superb views from the Furka Belvedere of the Rhone glacier and the Gratschlucht glacier. Every year since 1983 artists have exhibited their work at the Hotel Furka Blick, these include Rémy Zaugg, Gianni Colombo, Per Kirkeby, Stanley Brown, Caniel Buren and Ian Hamilton Finlay.
