The panoramic natural trail from Elsighorn down to Frutigen is one of Frutigen’s great summer attractions. Easily reached by cable-car, Elsigenalp itself offers many well-marked footpaths; it is home to several wildlife species and a floral delight. Elsighorn provides spectacular views and the trail, starting below, leads down to Trute, a picnic site with barbeque facilities and the best views of the Fruitig and Kander valleys. The final stretch down to Frutigen is easy going and the whole walk takes about 2.75 hours. It is worth taking a 30 minute detour from the Elsigenalp cable-car station to the beautiful Elsig Lake.
