Einsiedeln has plenty to offer its summer visitors, in addition to the separately listed attractions; in particular, it has some 400 km of hiking trails and 250 km of biking trails and even a toboggan trail. There is golf at the Ybig golf course (see separate entry), surfing, sailing and swimming in the Sihlsee and cruises on the Lakes Zurich, Zug or Lucerne, all of which are within easy reach from Einsiedeln’s central location. The Oberiberg area, about 17 km southeast of Einsiedeln, also has many attractions.
