The town of Disentis/Mustér, located at an altitude of 1,130 metres about 9.5 km northeast of Andermatt, is both a winter and summer resort. The town, which has a population of some 2,000, is dominated by Disentis Abbey (see separate entry) but the area has a number of other listed Swiss heritage sites. These include the baroque Santa Maria Immaculata Chapel in nearby Acletta, dating from 1670, which has a beautiful interior. Other features include the St Lucius Chapel in Disla and the 11th century Disentis parish church of St John the Baptist which exhibits various architectural styles.
