Founded in 1974 as the Kunsthalle of Geneva, the Centre d’Art Contemporain Genève was the first contemporary art institution in Suisse Romande. For over thirty years, the Centre has been discovering talented artists (Pipilotti Rist, Thomas Scheibitz, Shirana Shabazi and Gary Webb amongst others). With its program of exhibitions, performances and multimedia events, the Centre attempts to satisfy the growing public interest in art with its innovative agenda. The Centre also houses an art reference library with over 3000 works, as well as the Firmenich Children’s Atelier.
