Château d’Oex is described as one of the gardens of the east part of Vaud. This small mountain town lies at the foot of a hill. Development has brought newly built zones, high tension lines, ski lifts and omni-sport areas, as well as a cantonal road. Not far away is the Pierreuse Nature Reserve, with outstanding mountain landscapes. Even in summer the area has lots to offer with hot air balloons drifting across the sky, hang gliding and parachuting for the adventurous, bowling and tennis for those who prefer land-based holiday activities and swimming in the beautiful communal pool for water lovers.
